Elementary Teachers
Kindergarten | Vicki Curtis
“I am motivated daily by the eagerness of children to learn and I find joy in teaching children to read.  I still tear up when a struggling child finally understands a skill or begins to read.  God blessed me with the gift of teaching, and I’ve enjoyed teaching little ones over the past 34 years.”
Mrs. Curtis has been at LCS for 34 years and has over 45 years’ experience. She finds special enjoyment in supporting student’s parents as they begin the long education journey with their children. She has a B.S. and M.A. from Ball State University.
Second grade | Pam Smith
My calling to teach is based around Psalm 78:1-7, ‘That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.’ I try to teach my students about God’s amazing love for them.”

She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Calvary Bible College and holds a M.Ed. from the University of Missouri. Third grade | Lorena Pearson
“God has gifted me with a love for children. It is my belief that each and every child has the potential to learn and succeed.  As a classroom teacher, I will do everything on my part to ensure each student’s success. Each child’s success is my success ! Since I began teaching in the fall of 1986, I have developed a great love for the students that God brings our way. I still feel that “calling” now 30 years later. Having the privilege to share about God and His truths in every aspect of my teaching is ingrained in me.”
Mrs. Pearson has a B.S. and M.A. in Elementary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and Ball State University, respectively. She has 30 years’ experience teaching and educating children.
